Compliance Checker: 10 potential noncompliance case studies linked to Cargill’s operations in soy, cocoa, and palm oil
AidEnvironment publishes today its sustainability risk profile on agribusiness company Cargill, which is part of a series of four reports on key commodities producing and trading companies that will serve as input for AidEnvironment’s Compliance Checker, an interactive case studies’ Dashboard.
The sustainability risk profile analyses Cargill’s links to forest-risk commodities in the scope of the EU regulation on deforestation-free products (EUDR).
The analysis maps Cargill’s sourcing areas, its link to deforestation hotspots, and the location of assets and infrastructure linked to Cargill’s commodities’ imports into the European market, as well as linked downstream actors and creditors and investors.
Key element of the report is the demonstration of ten potentially EUDR noncompliant case studies on soy, palm oil, and cocoa linked to Cargill. The report’s case studies have been shared with Cargill for further engagement on 21 November 2024, and the company’s response has been integrated into the report.
The European Climate Foundation has supported the development of the Compliance Checker Cargill profile.
